Man Charged with Murder and Denied Pre-Trial Release

November 14, 2023, Peoria, IL – A Peoria man, Donte Agnew, 21, was charged over the weekend with First Degree Murder, a Class M Felony, for shooting and killing Davion Parker, 18, on February 11, 2023, at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex. Today, the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release was granted. Agnew will remain in custody at the Peoria County Jail while awaiting trial.

Around 7 pm on February 11, Peoria Police were called to the 3400 block of W. Oakbrook Dr. on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found Parker in the front passenger seat of a minivan with a gunshot wound to his head. Peoria Police detectives obtained surveillance video from the night of the shooting. In that video, two individuals, later identified as Agnew and Torreon Carry, came out of a nearby apartment building with guns in their hands.  They fired multiple shots towards the minivan in the parking lot, striking Parker.  He died days later at the hospital.

Officers are still trying to locate Carry. This investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
